Multicultural Business in Asia: Understanding our differences to create similarities

Asia, as a continent with vast natural, economic, political and social resources, has managed to grow and develop itself as a driving force in today´s global economy. Lead by countries like China, India, Russia, Singapore, Japan and the Arab Nations, Asia represents both a significant opportunity and a prodigious challenge for businesses and people alike.

One of the most important aspects of any collaboration intention, on many occasions even more so than the actual business proposition, is the understanding and respect of protocol and etiquette in these countries. How do we meet? How do we talk to each other? How do we exchange business cards? How do we negotiate? How and what do we eat?.

The utilization of proper business techniques, as well as a comprehension and understanding of the differences that allow us to create similarities not only between people and organization, but among nations, will be the key point of work, study and discussion for our seminar.

We will utilize case analysis of world-renowned corporations and enterprises, as well as simulations and role-playing to understand how business individuals in this region interact with each other and with the world. We will also determine the best way to find mutually beneficial business relations, as well as long-time associates and loyal friends in this vast region of the world.
