Professional Profile
Director of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific and Full Professor in the Academic Department of Social and Political Sciences at Universidad del Pacífico and researcher at the Research Center (CIUP) and the Center for China and Asia Pacific Studies. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Government from Harvard University, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
Her research interests include corporate social responsibility, mining and development, governance of extractive industries, and China's presence in Latin America. She has taught courses in political science and social and political reality in Peru, the United States and China.
She has been Vice President for Research, Director of the CIUP and Chair of the Academic Department of Social and Political Sciences. She has also been President of the Board of Directors of Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES), Visiting Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and William Henry Bloomberg Visiting Professor at Harvard University.
She is currently a member of the Working Group on Development and Environment in the Americas at the Center for Global Development Policy at Boston University.
